This is a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.
The combined skills and knowledge do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser and this qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training.
People who wish to start learning the fundamental elements of working as a salon assistant. You will learn to be task orientated and work under direct supervision while opening up career pathways further into the beauty and hairdressing salons, retail outlets and department stores.

This qualification ‘SHB20216 – Certificate II in Salon Assistant’ has no formal prerequisites for entry and is open to anyone interested in pursuing or enhancing a career in the Beauty Industry. Prospective learners will be required to go through a formal face to face Interview with one of our qualified Trainers and Assessors to establish whether the desired course is the correct qualification for their career path/job prospects. Learners are required to undertake an LLN assessment prior to commencing training.

To achieve a SHB20116 ­ Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics, a total of 15 units must be completed. This includes all Ten (10) Core Units and Five (5) Elective Units.
